Improvements at Metropolis Country Club Continue

July 8, 2011

WHITE PLAINS, NY- This past spring, Metropolis debuted their new practice tee line to its members.  Improved hitting surfaces offer both a synthetic fairway and a synthetic rough to simulate all conditions found out on the golf course.  With the addition of a new awning, these hitting bays can be utilized rain or shine.

Heatwole Golf Design provided the 3-D images of the proposed changes for the practice range.  Through graphic representation of the before/after, the club was able to determine which improvements to make to the practice facilities.

In addition to the aforementioned improvements, Heatwole Golf Design has been working with the club on improving the tees on Holes #5 and #18.  The new design creates more teeing area and improved visibility to each fairway of the golf course which was originally designed by Herbert Strong and later renovated by A.W. Tillinghast.
